Tetbury Film Society is a small(ish) friendly(very) group of people who enjoy watching fiilms together.
Our season runs from September to April, we show films in the Dolphins Hall in Tetbury and all our screenings are on Wednesdays.
Each year we put together a mixed programme of nine films for members and visitors (we like to think of them all as members-to-be) to share.
We have been working hard watching lots of candidate films (some great, some not-so-good and some... that other people may have enjoyed).
We've picked out a bundle of super films we'd like to share (and see again), worked out when and in what order to show them and we've put together a programme for the new season.
See the FILMS page for details of the programme, including dates - or tear out the page with our programme from the September 2024 edition of the Tetbury Advertiser and stick it to your fridge!
Film can be powerful, magical, challenging, comforting, informative and joyous.
What we look for is a varied programme of great films that people
might not otherwise get to see, films that need to be shared and talked about,
films to warm the heart, films that need to be seen on a big screen,
and films that are just a joy to watch.
Join us for the whole season,
or just come along as and when you can
to watch a film together.
Tetbury Film Society is accepting new members and renewals for the new season, which will start in September 2024.
Membership is by annual subscription with the rate for the new season unchanged at £27.
Your subscription gives you entry to nine films every season.
That works out at only £3 per film. On a BIG screen, with proper surround sound, and shared with an audience who just love great films. Sold? Find a membership form here.
If you don't want to join, or just want to see a particular film, we are always happy to welcome guests (non members), paying £6 per film at the door.
Tetbury Film Society screenings are at the Dolphins Hall in Tetbury.
We have a large screen, high quality projector and Dolby surround sound system to show brilliant films at their best.
We would like to thank all our loyal members who continue to subscribe every year, helping us bring great films to Tetbury. Our particular thanks also go to the Dolphins Hall Trustees for their ongoing support.
The society has been a member of the British Federation of Film Societies (AKA Cinema For All) since opening in 1999.
A long-standing aim of Tetbury Film Society has been to co-operate with and assist local organisations and institutions. For many years we have held an annual fund raiser film screenings for Longfield Hospice and Tetbury Hospital, raising thousands of pounds.
We are also pleased to support other charitable and community organisations in the town (Tetbury Town Council, the Feoffees, Tetbury in Bloom, Tetbury Lions etc) and we have made our equipment available for them to use on many occasions.
